In the early morning hours of May 7, 1928, a security guard on bicycle patrol through the streets of Phoenix heard a piercing scream followed by a loud thud.
Upon following the direction of the sound, he came across the body of a woman lying by the sidewalk of San Carlos Hotel. She had suicide letters clutched in her hand all dated May 7th 1928 at 1:15 AM.

Leone Ingaborg “Dorothy” Jensen was born on 14 April, 1896 in Austin, Minnesota to Danish parents, Peter and Katrine Carlson.
At 24 years old, she was a dancer at a theatre. However her health started deteriorating between 1920 and 1928. It is believed that she tried all medical treatments in California without success and was finally advised to move to Phoenix.
